How do you know if you found the best wedding photography company for you?

How do you know if you have chosen the right wedding photographer for you?

After all…you are reading this blog on the internet and there’s the possibility I am not being clear or writing my thoughts in a way you prefer…

When we reserve wedding days for Houston brides who reserve The Bell Tower on 34th. One of the places we love to meet and talk with you is in-person! Why?

You know how there are emojis, so we can further illustrate the meaning behind our text messages and emails? Sometimes even phone calls can be tricky because one party may not have been clear explaining a point and the other party misunderstood what was being conveyed. So, we use descriptions, stories, and emojis to further emphasize a point we are making to help the other person not get the wrong idea. The purpose of effective communication is for the other party to clearly understand what is being said.

I prefer meeting brides in-person and for them to look at, pick up our custom albums and feel their weight and quality archival paper and leather album cover, see our prints in-person and notice how sharp our pictures are (opposed to soft or slightly blurry), and talk to me and for me to have the opportunity to talk to you about your particular wedding needs and for me to explain how we are able to solve their wedding-day problems with our solutions.

I personally feel that with professional wedding photography, in-person conversations coupled with the future houston bride free to browse without being rushed and not pressured is the best way to help the bride-to-be understand what she is investing in for $4,000. I mean…we all know too-well about those “wedding photographers“ who charge pennies. So, you think to yourself: WHAT! That’s too much, then you click the back button in Google - when you see prices more than $350.00 lol.

You not fully understanding what is included in the price is not your fault. I’ve come to learn that some people are not good at communicating their services or making their services transparent. Some people don’t even post their prices. Of course, they believe you will love their work sooo much you will message them. I choose to post my prices because you can learn if luxury professional wedding photography in houston fits your style. Maybe you’re having a backyard wedding and you prefer something low-key. My services are designed and ideal for the Houston Bride who will have her wedding at Hotel Icon for her getting-ready and The Corinthian for her ceremony and reception and she would also like a romantic night couple photo session on the downtown Houston city streets.

How is professional wedding photography in Houston rated, in terms of, expensive to cheap? Do you carry a Louis Vuitton purse, wear Chanel no.5 perfume, and drive BMW X5 or Range Rover Sport? Those things align with your identity and what you like. You would say they cost more than other things, but you are able to explain why they are correctly priced and are not “expensive“. That same perspective applies to houston professional luxury wedding photography. You prefer enhanced customer service because you know during your wedding day you want to celebrate without worrying about if your professional houston wedding photographer will do his job diligently without you needing to check-in. Instead, you choose personable customer service of David Baker Studios as your wedding photography team and Belle of The Ball as your wedding planners because you want the best on your once-in-a-lifetime wedding day.

So, what factors are important to you when you’re choosing The Astorian Events Venue Photography company? Who knows…maybe that website did a poor job at educating the Hughes Manor bride on what to expect when you hire that luxury wedding photography studio in Houston. Communication, in general, is one of those areas I personally feel a lot of businesses who expect people to buy their product drop-the-ball, so the visitor doesn’t really understand what justifies a price, then goes around telling everyone “those people are expensive“.

Then, of course…there are those people who just want cheap and don’t care about receiving beautiful, expressive, classic-chic, and editorial pictures at Hughes Manor event venue in Houston. Can’t help that…I know what you’re saying - you order something custom and expect it at the big-box retailer price??? C’mon lol haha. Rolex watch is not sold at $300.00. If you saw one priced at that price, I wouldn’t buy it. Why? We know their reputation - things of value are not cheap because the amount of services required to deliver that experience exceeds inexperienced and un-trained people.

Next, there are those people who don’t read what is on the website, so they don’t know what ROI they’re getting for the price paid. There’s a few possible reasons: either the site is poorly designed, is not organized properly, and looks like 1998 HTML…; has too much text and blah blah blah; or the visitor doesn’t care to read at all - can’t help that - if the person doesn’t care to read, we don’t want to serve them because our services are meant to be tailored-fit to you and like with a lot of things…you’ve got to learn what they will do for you. We only WANT the Houston bride’s who are particular in what they want to do on their wedding day and have a luxury look, vibe, style in mind because this will help David Baker Studios help the River Oaks Bride understand what she wants us to create for her on her wedding day and this will help us create her timeline and be aware of important events she wants to feature. Sometimes when I ask Brides questions similar to this, I get a weird look - as if to say - well, you’re the photographer?!? Just because I’ve photographed past weddings does not mean you also want what past Modern Luxury brides have received. For example, I’ve also had past brides expect us to photograph during dinner - when people are eating... Let’s just say I was tempted to include some pictures that showed her guests shoving food into their mouths. Not the best look lol. What I mean by asking this question to you, “what do you envision your wedding looking like? What would you say is the style of your wedding you envision? Will your wedding be classic-chic, black tie and tuxedo photographed at The River Oaks Country Club or will you choose The Woodlands Resort and wear navy blue suits and you a Vivienne Atelier designer dress?“ Of course…those questions were lengthier than I would actually ask. But, I verbalized more elaboration because that’s what I’m referring to when I do ask questions like that. The bride who is not particular or does not have an idea of what she wants (even after everything has been planned, discussed, and solidified) that is not normally the types of brides we serve. Of course, I’ve photographed some Houston brides who say they want nice candid pictures during the day; but they still are able to explain and describe the general vibe they are going for, “Art deco with moody, classic lighting. Our colors will be burgundy, champagne, and gold. The ceremony will have floral vases atop clear stands, so the flowers appear they are floating.“ If you prefer more candid vs posed and stylized pictures cool! But, we still need to go over your vision. I may appear persistent with this to the point of getting annoying. Trust me when I say: when we are on the same page, you will love your Houston wedding pictures more because you will see what you love, more than, if you have regrets and hear yourself saying, “mannn - I should’ve done a first-look with my dad with the Palmer Golf Course behind us, a first-touch in that ornate hallway decorated with marble showing me walking down the stairs to my Houston Groom, and I should’ve had my mom close-up my dress when I was getting ready at The Crystal Ballroom inside Live The Rice”. This is why I emphasize throughout my site creating a clear plan and timeline for your wedding day. I want you to be happy with your Houston luxury wedding photography when you have your wedding at The Corinthian, The Astorian, The Woodlands Resort, and The Bell Tower on 34th. Please help me help you through your wedding planning.

Again…this is why I prefer meeting brides in-person because they can see me, my work, pick up and turn the pages in our albums, and ask specific and pointed questions, and observe me in-person. All of this is done in 30 seconds, while reading requires more time and patience. We do live busy lives, after all. When talking to me in-person. Houston modern luxury brides could think: what could this person be like on my wedding day (do I want them around me during my 8 hour wedding day)?

I realize the fact that your wedding day is a major life event for you, and finding the best photographer for you is the most important thing. You and your wedding vendors will have to have mutual trust from them to you and you to them. You think to yourself - will they make-good on their promise, deliver what they claim, and will I get my monies worth after everything is said and done? Of course, this trust does’t happen after one text or phone call. This is something that is built up over-time. So, don’t worry…I don’t expect us to be business partners after the first conversation - I also don’t want to be in a red-flag dilemma...

Its not about finding the ‘best’ photographer because what happens if they’re not patient with you during your wedding day and they get on your nerves? I don’t like pushy people…especially when they appear they don't catch on to obvious things. For example, I’ve been in situations with past brides that had bad anxiety and needed time alone during Getting-ready during her 8-hour wedding day. That’s ok. I didn’t pressure her. I gave her her space and check-in here and there as I photographer her bridesmaids. Instead of having 45 min wedding day bridal in 3 different locations (which I was super excited about because each location included elements that make me happy!). We had 10 mins in one location 20 mins before her wedding ceremony. Those pictures turned out BEAUTIFUL, by the way. She was happy with those pictures and very appreciative of how I gave her space. But, I also think she was also happy with the fact I never made her feel uncomfortable. I gave her her space. She partied and celebrated for the rest of her wedding day. So, I was happy. But, I am familiar with these wedding day emotions and helping modern luxury brides who live in Houston during their wedding day.

Serious though…

Have you ever talked with someone and not really understood what the other person was trying to say…like you felt like there was more behind their words they weren’t telling you?

So, again - how do you know if we fit with your unique style, and I am able to create consistent work similar to what is featured on my website and what originally caught your attention? We meet and openly and candidly talk with each other.

I feel that so much communication (non-verbal) is lost when we are stuck behind text, email, and talking on our phones. But, “I’m too busy to meet you“. Trust me…I get being busy… This is why we offer Zoom conference options to meet and greet with you for you to learn about us.

For example, just the other night I had a Zoom consultation meeting with a Houston Bride who chose our professional luxury wedding studio to document her wedding-day at The Bell Tower on 34th in the Houston Heights. Again…just because you get on an informal Zoom call with me does not mean you have to book with me or even pay me money to chat about your wedding day. Even if you have a question about your wedding. Let’s talk! My professional wedding photography services are intended to help give you peace-of-mind during your wedding day, so you can celebrate with your friends, family, and loved ones’! That is why in our website we mention “professional luxury wedding photography with a personable customer service approach“.

The advantage of seeing each other when we talk is: we connect much more, we understand the other by interpreting body language and what is being said, plus human interaction is so much more enjoyable than emailing and texting. I mean, of course…meeting in-person at a cafe over a good cup of coffee is better. But you know…busy lives, right?

If our professional luxury wedding photography in Houston piqued your interest, our messaging about personable customer service approach, and guiding you through your wedding day by the timeline we will help you create for your wedding day caught your attention, and you want to learn more (even if only for curiosity to see if I look like that guy in the pictures below lol - yes…I am that guy…). Let’s meet and candidly talk at Blendin! They have an excellent cappuccino and chill vibe seating area. That’s if you’re in Sugar Land and Allen Parkway and Montrose area. If you’re in the Washington Heights area near Sawyer Heights, lets meet at Catalina Coffee - they are also amazing!
